Following graduation from the University of Melbourne in 1962, Brian H. Connor's work as a rural general practitioner has spanned more than 30 years and includes appointments as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Armidale and New England Hospital from 1971 to 1998. He has been a member of several national training committees of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RAGCP). From 1976 to 1997 he was a General Practice Supervisor for the Family Medicine Program and the RACGP Training program.
He was also a member of the organising committee the 'Country Towns, Country Doctors' conference in Melbourne 1978, which was the first Australian conference to focus on the issue of rural health. He has more than 50 medical publications to his credit and has presented papers at both national and international conferences.
His involvement in community organisations include 12 years as chair of the Armidale City Council Road Safety Committee, 1876-88; chairperson of the Armidale Community Alcohol Strategy Committee from 1991-7; and President of the Australian College of Road Safety, 1990-2. His awards include Member of the Order of Australia (1992); Faculty Medal in Education at the University of New England (1994); the ninth Graeme Grove Medal, awarded in 1984 by the Riyal Australian College of Surgeons,; and the Australasian Bicentennial Medal (1988).
Dr Mark Berzsenyi
BSc (Honours), MB BS (Honours), FRACP
Dr Mark Berzenyi graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (Honours) from the University of Melbourne and Monash University respectively. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, a Gastroenterology Fellow and a National Health and Medical Research Council PostGraduate Medical Scholar. Dr Berzsenyi is currently completing a PhD at Monash University and is a clinical tutor for medical students and doctors in training.
Dr Raymond Montag
BDSc, FRACDS
Following graduation from the University of Melbourne in 1985, Raymond Montag has worked in private practice for over 17 years. He became a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 1990 and has attended numerous courses and lecturers in relevant areas of dentistry that include a two semester programme in Orthodontics, University of Melbourne (1994), level 1&2 courses in Dental Implants, Branemark centre, Gothenberg, Sweden (1995), Mid- winter school of Endodontics, University of Melbourne (1996), Progressive Orthodontic Seminar Series (1999-2000).
He has a keen interest in the education of secondary and tertiary students and has tutored dental students in the fellowship programme. His duties have also included taking on the sole duty of providing the in-service training and education of the nursing staff in a busy South Melbourne dental practice. Raymond Montag is keen to pass on his knowledge and enjoys spending time with young, ambitious people.
Dr Russell Harris

Russell Harris graduated in the UK from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 1989. He emigrated to Melbourne in 1991, where he worked primarily as a GP for eight years. Since 1999 he has specialised in psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and counselling, and now works primarily as a psychological health physician.
Dr Anna Blainey
BA, MA, PhD
Anna Blainey has studied at the University of Melbourne and has a PhD in History from La Trobe University. She has tutored and lectured at Deakin University and has also co-written a textbook for Deakin's Women's Studies off-campus students. Her interests are in social movements in history and the analysis of their ideas.
Associate Professor Colin Rix
DipAppChem, BSc(Hons), PhD, DipEd, ARACI
Associate Professor Colin Rix studied at FIT (now Victoria University of Technology) and the University of Melbourne. He has completed a DipAppChem, Bachelor of Science, PhD and a Diploma of Education. His professional research experience includes the USA (Iowa State University), UK (Oxford University) and BHP in Melbourne. He taught at the University of Manchester for 2 years and has been teaching at the Department of Applied Chemistry (RMIT University) for over 20 years. Associate Professor Colin Rix has supervised research candidates and has published many research papers.
Mr Paul Coleman
BSc, DipEd
Paul Coleman studied at the University of Melbourne and Latrobe University where he gained a Bachelor of Science and Diploma of Education respectively. He has taught at public and private institutions at secondary and tertiary level and has held many senior positions including that of VCE Campus Principal. He has lectured at RMIT University in the Department of Health and Clinical Sciences and currently operates his own Training Consultancy.
Mrs Jennie Steed
RAM, Cert IV, (Workplace Training)
Jennie Steed is a registered Nurse who completed her training at the Alfred Hospital in Victoria.and has worked in the health sector for many years. She has a certificate (IV) in Workplace Training and currently works in Pathology collection.
