Preparation Courses & Resources?
A. AMEPP's Preparation Courses and Resources are designed for bona fide
pre-medical students to help familiarise and prepare themselves for the
Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test (UMAT) and/or
the Graduate Australian Medical School Admission Test (GAMSAT).
Who is allowed to take part
in AMEPP's Preparation Courses & Resources?
A. All Courses and Resources are open to all members of the public whose
intention is to use AMEPP's Preparation Courses and Resources for the
sole purpose of preparing for the UMAT and/or GAMSAT).
Are AMEPP's Preparation Courses
& Resources supported and endorsed by professionals?
A. Yes, AMEPP's staff consist of qualified medical health professionals
and educators who support, acknowledge and deliver the programs.
How does the UMAT & GAMSAT
compare to tests and examinations that I have taken at secondary and
tertiary level?
A.UMAT and GAMSAT are different from any other tests you have encountered.
It is unlike the knowledge-based exams that focus on memorising and regurgitating
information. Furthermore, the 'high pressure - limited time' nature of
both tests means most candidates will have difficulty in finishing them.

peculiarities of the type of questions that you are likely to encounter

associated with not knowing what to expect. AMEPP's Preparation Courses

What is the test mindset?
A. The mindset is an attitudinal approach to an assessment task in which
the student applies a consistent reasoning technique to each question
irrespective of the subject matter or information presented. It involves
reading, comprehending and solving each problem with the same attitude
- quickly, accurately and confidently. UMAT and GAMSAT are both standardised
thinking tests. As a result, they both have their own consistent patterns
and idiosyncrasies that can be used to your advantage. This is one of
the main reasons why test preparation works, even though no specific preparation
is required to undertake either test.
Are full-length practice tests
included in AMEPP's Preparation Courses & Resources?
A. Yes full-length practice tests are an integral part of AMEPP's Preparation
Courses and Resources for both the UMAT and GAMSAT. This is designed to
help breakdown the mystique of the real experience.
When I enrol and pay for AMEPP's
Preparation Course are all the course notes and resources supplied mine
to keep?
A. Yes. Unless otherwise specifically stated, the AMEPP Course and Resources
fee is inclusive of all tutorials, notes, support material, workbooks,
manuals and full-length practice test(s).
How much practice do I need
for each section of the UMAT & GAMSAT?
A. We believe that each candidate varies in their ability to apply themselves
to the task at hand, and as such each candidate is advised to determine
their strengths and weaknesses and apply themselves accordingly.
How long have similar types
of Preparation Courses & Resources been in use?
A. In the USA and Europe it is has been possible to purchase and study
similar preparation materials for IQ, psychometric and college admission
Tests for many years.

Who is responsible for developing
and administrating the official UMAT and GAMSAT ?
A. UMAT was initially developed by UMAT Pty Ltd and the University of
Newcastle. Beginning in 2001 the Australian Council for Educational Research
(ACER) is responsible for the administration of the test on behalf of
the UMAT Consortium. GAMSAT was developed and is administered by ACER
in conjunction with the Consortium of Graduate Medical Schools to assist
in the selection of students to participate in the graduate-entry programs.
Is AMEPP endorsed by the Australian
Council for Educational Research (ACER)?
A. AMEPP, its Courses and Resources are not endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated
with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), UMAT Pty
Ltd or any Universities using the UMAT and/or GAMSAT as part of their
selection process for undergraduate and graduate entry into medicine and
other health science courses.

Can I sit the UMAT and
GAMSAT a second time?
A. Yes. This has obvious advantages. To date, there is no penalty for
re-sitting the UMAT and/or the GAMSAT.
Does AMEPP reserve the right
to cancel, reschedule or postpone any Courses & Resources?
A. Yes. AMEPP reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or postpone any
Course session that does not reach minimum enrolment numbers and will
not be held responsible for any loss or inconvenience. In such an event,
AMEPP will notify the applicant as soon as possible to discuss any changes
or refunds.
Does AMEPP reserve the right
to refuse any Course or Resource?
A. Yes. AMEPP reserves the right at its sole discretion to refuse any
Course or Resource to an applicant who is deemed in our opinion to display
disruptive, contentious, or dishonest behaviour. In such an event, AMEPP
will cancel the student application and notify the student whilst providing
a 100% refund within 30 days.
Are there any AMEPP Terms
and Conditions by which I must agree to?
A. Yes. The AMEPP Terms and Conditions are designed to protect your rights
as well as those of AMEPP. On purchasing any of AMEPP's Preparation Courses
and Resources you are automatically agreeing to AMEPP's Terms and Conditions.

Are AMEPP's Courses &
Resources protected by copyright?
A. Yes, Unless otherwise stated AMEPP's Preparation Courses and Resources
are not transferable and are designed for your personal and non-commercial
use for the sole purpose of preparing you for the UMAT and/or GAMSAT.
All course materials are protected by copyright, and any distribution
of these materials or verbal disclosure of proprietary Courses and Resource
Methods to any third party is prohibited without prior written consent

What is the buyers right to
Cancel?
A. If a candidate decides to cancel his/her registration 7 days PRIOR
to the commencement of the AMEPP Course Session in which they are enrolled,
100% of the amount paid is refundable. After the 7 day pre-course session
established deadline no refund is provided.
Does AMEPP have a Privacy Policy?
A. Yes. All personal information provided to AMEPP in any form will only
be used by AMEPP and will NOT be passed on to any 3rd party organisation.

If I am under 18 years of
age do I need a legal guardian to sign the AMEPP Preparation Courses &

A. Yes. All candidates who are under 18 years of age and who wish to participate
in AMEPP's Preparation Courses and Resources for the UMAT and/or GAMSAT
require a legal guardian to sign the application form on their behalf.

A. Yes. AMEPP's Preparation Courses and Resources are available to international
students.
What am I expected to bring
to AMEPP's Preparation Programs?
A. Your receipt, workbooks or course notes, writing instruments- pencils,
blue/black/red pens , a good quality eraser, a packed lunch ( as canteen
facilities may not be available) and last but not least a positive attitude.
